Mavs Finish Non Conference Schedule With A Win

The Missoula Mavericks would host the Bitterroot Bucs to finish out the non conference portion of their season on Wednesday night. In a game that looked one sided from the beginning, the Mavericks would earn a 12-2 win in the seventh to push themselves a 20-9 record.

The Mavericks would earn three runs in the first three innings and only allowed the Bucs two runs to have a one run lead. In the fifth inning the Mavericks would bats would light up to earn them seven runs, the second time in two games Missoula would score seven runs in the fifth inning, to take a 12-2 lead.

The sixth inning would bring lightning and heavy winds that drive the rain side ways that caused the umpires to pause the game only for a few moments. Both teams weathering the sixth inning storm, the Bucs would have an up hill battle to get back in the game or face a loss due to the ten run rule in the seventh inning. Missoula would hold off the Bucs and earn the win, their fourth in a row.

The Mavericks will open their conference season on the road Saturday in Billings against the Royals in a doubleheader.
