Many young athletes dream of playing baseball beyond high school and for one Missoula teen that dream has come true as Thomas Martin will join his brother James on the diamond at the collegiate level.
Missoula Maverick pitcher and Sentinel senior Thomas Martin will take his pitching talents on the road as he will head East to play baseball for the Miles Community College Pioneers where his brother James, and Maverick alum Jakob Bierig currently play baseball. This is the second organization that the Martin boys will get to take the field together as James returned for his final season as a Maverick in the summer of 2018 and Thomas was moved up to pitch from the Mavs A to the AA squad.
His brother James will be in his final season as a Pioneer in the 2019-2020 season as he will finish his time at MCC earning his degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Biology. Thomas will look to work towards a business degree while he attends Miles Community College where he will enjoy smaller class sizes that will help him learn and give him better opportunities to work one one with the MCC professors.
Thomas will enjoy the rest of his senior year at Sentinel before taking the field this summer as a Maverick to help them make a run to a state title and a trip to Lewiston Idaho to represent Montana at the Northwest Regional Tournament before he takes off to college in the fall.
