Prep Weekly Spotlight 2/13

For this weeks Prep Weekly Spotlight we take a look at the District 13-C Tournament which signifies beginning of the end of the season for Valley Christian boys and girls basketball.

Ladies First…
Frenchtown Montana will be the home of the 2019 District 13-C Tournament for both the boys and girls basketball programs that make up the district. Valley Christian goes into the tournament as the number six seed after a season that has proved to be a rebuilding year with a young group of players who have found success by focusing on the fundamentals. The Lady Eagles have pulled the number three seeded Darby Lady Tigers to open the tournament, Darby has beaten Valley Christian both times they faced each other.

The tournament begins Thursday morning at the Frenchtown high school gym with Seeley-Swan getting the top seed for the girls, and Clark Fork landing the number two seed, both getting byes on the opening day. Tip off between Valley Christian and Darby is at 4:15 pm, the winner moves on to play Clark Fork on Friday.

And Now For the Boys…
Working their way through the 2018-2019 season the Valley Christian boys have had a roller coaster of year with loses creating learning moments, and wins that solidified their progress. With a strong senior class to groom the underclassman the Eagles play better then their record shows, going into the tournament with the six seed. Valley Christian will face the three seeded Victor Pirates to tip off the tournament, the Pirates have a leg up over the Eagles going into the tournament as Victor has taken both games against Valley Christian this season.

For Valley Christian fans it will be back to back games in Frenchtown to open the tournament with the boys playing the game before the girls which is scheduled to tip off at 2:30 pm, the winner will take on number two seeded Seeley-Swan on Friday at 2:30 pm.
