For this weeks Prep Weekly Spotlight we take a look at two winter sports that will be closing out their season as the 2019 MHSA State Swim Meet and the 2019 MHSA All-Class Wrestling Tournament will be held this weekend.
Swimming
Missoula will be sending a strong group of swimmers to Bozeman for this years state meet as the Hellgate Knights will be defending their title from 2018 for both the boys and girls. The Sentinel boys will be trying to improve on their ninth place finish from last season while the girls have a returning group that can challenge Bozeman for the second place spot. Big sky sending a group of boys and girls that have been challenging the top teams in the state all season long.
The Bozeman Swim Center located next to the Bozeman high school will be the home of this years meet with first events getting under way Friday morning at 11:00 am, and then the event will finish Saturday starting at 11:00 am.
Wrestling
Big Sky has emerged as the top team of Zootown after they swept the Garden City Classic to take the city title, and then the Eagles followed up last weekend by putting themselves in to a comfortable spot going into state after hosting the Western AA Seeding. Sentinel will send a quality group to the state tournament this year with athletes competing in 12 of the 13 weight classes. Hellgate will be sending four athletes to represent the Knights at the tournament with three placing in the top five of the Western AA Seeding last weekend.
Billings MetraPark is the home of the All-Class Wrestling Tournament with the teams getting a chance to practice Thursday night, and then the tournament kicks off Friday Morning at 10:00 am with the Parade Of Athletes.
