Rorie Gets Final League Honors

Montana’s Ahmaad Rorie picked up the final Big Sky Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week honor after leading the Grizzlies to their final two wins of the season and a first-round bye at this week’s Big Sky Conference tournament.
Rorie averaged 25 points in Montana’s two road wins at Weber State and Idaho State Thursday and Saturday. The transfer from Oregon scored a game-high 23 points at Weber State, going 10-22 from the field and 3-6 from behind the arc as the Griz picked up a crucial 78-74 win, the team’s first regular season win in Ogden since 2004.
Thanks to 27 points from Rorie, the Grizzlies picked up a commanding 95-76 win, clinching their first-round bye at the conference tournament.
Rorie is the grizzlies leading scorer this season, averaging 17.7 points per game. He also holds the Big Sky’s top assist to turnover ratio at 2.06, ranking him 91st nationally.
Rorie has earned Montana’s nomination for Big Sky Player of the Week a total of nine times this season but has yet to take home the weekly award. The Grizzlies have only had one other player earn the honor. Fabijan Krslovic was also named Player of the Week on December 13 after a near triple-double performance against San Jose State.
Rorie was also named to the All-Big Sky Conference Second Team earlier in the day by the leagueMonday.
No. 5 seed Montana will open Big Sky tournament play on Thursday against No. 4 seed Idaho.
