The 2017 fall sports season is coming to a close for many of the sports and this weekend will finish out the volleyball season at the Brick Breeden Field house in Bozeman Montana.
The Sentinel Spartans head into the tournament as the number one seed in the west and look to repeat as the Class AA state champions. Sentinel ripped through their regular season shutting out almost every team they met on the volleyball court. The Spartans are a veteran team who are lead by the talented Kylie Frohlich and the Schweyen sisters, Jordyn and Shelby. Sentinel will use the experience of their senior squad to further themselves over the weekend.
Sentinel landed themselves in the number one seed in the west and will play the Great Falls Bison in the opening round of the tournament. Helena Capital placed themselves in the second seed and the Helena Bengals third with the Glacier Wolfpack finishing out the western seeding. The eastern conference is lead by Billings Senior followed by Bozeman, and Billings West, with the Bison of Great Falls as the fourth seed out of the east.
The Spartans and the Bison met only once before in the regular season on September 2nd with Sentinel coming away with a 3-1 win over Great Falls. Sentinel won the first two sets in the match out right 25-10 in each set and the Bison looked to make it interesting taking the third set by the skin of their teeth 25-23. The fourth set went in favor of the Spartans as they would take the match 25-14.
Sentinel has the opening match of the Class AA portion of the tournament with first serve set for 10:00 am.
