  • In 1927 the first HR hit out of Comiskey Park Chicago, hit by NY Yankee Babe Ruth

  • In 1743 Champion of England titleholder Jack Broughton publishes ‘Rules of the Ring’ – earliest boxing code

Golf

  • In 1992 at the PGA Championship, Nick Price of Zimbabwe wins by 3 from John Cook, Nick Faldo, Jim Gallagher & Gene Sauers

  • In 1954 “Sports Illustrated” magazine begins publishing

  • In 1965 AFL awards its first expansion franchise (Miami Dolphins)
