Baseball

• In 1894 a fire breaks out in Boston and destroys the baseball stadium and 170 other buildings.

Basketball

• In 1985 Michael Jordan is named the Rookie of the year.

Boxing

• in 1955 Rocky Marciano TKO’s Don Cockrell in nine rounds to claim the heavyweight boxing title.

Hockey

• In 1982 the New York Islanders sweep the Vancouver Canucks four games to claim the Stanley Cup Final.
