It is fitting that Saturday’s Class A football state championship game will be the second game played on Hamilton’s new football field as the Broncs host the Billings Central Rams at 1:00 pm.
For the Rams it will be a chance to bring two MHSA state prep football titles home to Billings with the West Golden Bears playing for a Class AA championship tonight. Billings Central plays a bruising type of game as they rely on their ground game to get past their foe with a pair of running backs that run like a bowling bowl. In the game of football speed kills and the Ram defense is so quick on the front end that it seems as though they are in the huddle with the other team.
Hamilton will be making back to back appearances in the Class A chipper as they fell to the Columbia Falls Wildcats last season, revenging their loss last weekend as the Broncs up ended Columbia Falls to advance to the season finale. The Broncs have the ability to come at you with multiple threats offensively with a quarterback that has the patience to sit in the pocket, but the intelligence to know when to pull the down and run away from pursuing defenders.
