The 2018 Montana High School Association Class B State football championship game will be an early season non conference rematch between the undefeated Fairfield Eagles and the Loyola Rams at Rollin Field in Missoula on Saturday afternoon with kickoff at 2:00 pm.
Fairfield comes to Missoula for the second time in the 2018 season, and the first trip resulting in a 38-6 victory over the Loyola Rams. The Eagles run a dual threat offense with a run and gun quarterback who has an arm to put the ball on a rope to his receivers, and legs that will runs over opposing defenses. On the defensive side of the ball Fairfield are bullies in the front seven, and ball hawks on the back end.
This is the second time in three seasons that Loyola has played in and hosted the Class B State title game, with the 2016 game ending in a last second touchdown that gave Eureka their first state football championship. Loyola has a running game that is led by an experienced offensive line, and receiving core that centers around a gifted wide receiver. The Rams are stacked at the defensive line with experience in the interior, and a back end that has the ability to lock down receivers.
