One of the best features of Class C basketball in Montana is that the boys and girls travel together, meaning the boys and girls always play at the same location versus one being on the road while the other is at home like the other classes, and Missoula’s lone Class C school will get back into action after the Christmas break tonight as they hit the road to play the Victor Pirates on the hardwood,
Ladies First…
For the Valley Christian girls it is a year of learning from the games played to strengthen their future. A young team with lots of fire, the Lady Eagles have played well, but have yet to put a check in the win column. Victor finished off the December portion of their season with a pair of wins, going 2-5 in their first seven games.
This game features two teams who are searching for their rhythm on the court among a spunky youthful bunch, look for a low scoring game with high numbers under the rebound and assist stats. Tip off from Victor between the girls is at 5:30 pm.
And Now The Boys…
The Valley Christian boys have a roster full of athletic talent that has the ability to make the Eagles a threat in Class boy’s basketball, but the December portion of the season proved to be a struggle as the Eagles averaged 30 points per game in the 1-4 record. The Pirates on the other hand are working through their own tests one game at a time that resulted in a below .500 December.
If the Eagles can keep a good rotation on the ball they can come away with a win to start off the New Year, but an enthusiastic Victor squad may have the ability to keep up with Valley Christian. Things tip off from Big Sky high school at 7:00 pm.
