To open their play at the 13C District Tournament in Frenchtown the Valley Christian Eagles would pull the Victor Pirates in a three seed vs six seed battle that resulted in a Pirate 62-42 win.
Valley Christian kept it close in the opening quarter, falling 6-0 in the opening minutes, but quickly rebounded and kept it a one point game for most of the first quarter. The Pirates flexed their muscle in the second quarter as they would push their lead out to ten at the half time break, taking most of their shots from outside the arc.
Valley Christian had the ball to start the third quarter and tried to chip away at the Victor lead, but perimeter shooting by the Pirates made it difficult when the teams where swapping two pointers for three pointers. Having a substantial lead going into he final frame Victor slowed the tempo of the game down and prevented Valley Christian from making high percentage shots.
Victor will move onto the winners side of the bracket to play Seeley-Swan Friday at 2:30 pm while the Eagles while have a bye until Saturday morning when they play Clark Fork at 10:00 am.
